The synergy between family and school.
School should not be the antithesis of family life. Rather, school should be able to integrate itself into family life in order to facilitate a holistic educational and developmental path. For this reason, the School of Tomorrow is not only concerned with the child itself, but also makes an important contribution to parents and family life as a whole.
Behavior vs. Knowledge
Education is often seen as the responsibility of schools and upbringing as the task of parents. This is definitely no longer the case today! Education and upbringing are inevitably merging – and that is a good thing. Nevertheless, this presents both schools and families with new, challenging tasks. The new school is just as responsible for upbringing as families are for education.
That is why families and schools need to work together, not against each other. If we use the synergies of this valuable combination, the children will be the biggest winners.
The "SOT Night" - for and with the family.
Every 1-2 months, the School of Tomorrow organizes the so-called "SOT Night". This event is aimed specifically at SOT parents and is included in the school fees. The main aim is to stay in constant contact, learn from each other, optimize things and network.
At these events, the SOT offers valuable contributions, lectures and workshops on relevant and important topics to support parents and – where desired – provide methods, tips and tricks to ensure that the child's education and development are synchronized, coordinated and seamless from school to family. It is a kind of continuing education for parents to develop together with their child, to stay active and to exchange ideas at a high level.
In order to promote the children's core skills and growth mindset both at school and at home, it is helpful if parents are informed about certain methods and best practices – this is taught at these regular events. The SOT nights not only serve the development of the children themselves, but will also be of particular benefit to the parents in order to further strengthen communication, interaction and the relationship with their own child.
Active contribution.
Parents and families who would like to get actively involved are also very welcome. If, for example, parents have specific know-how and would like to pass this on or would like to actively support parents in certain projects or otherwise help to shape everyday life at SOT, we are very open to this.
In addition, regular meetings are also held with parents – not to assess the child, but rather to exchange ideas, strengthen relationships and help the child progress together. If desired, counseling sessions or coaching can also be booked.
Modern technology.
Through the use of modern technology, parents can directly follow much of their children's progress, stay informed at all times, and in a sense, become part of everyday school life.
We use our own app, which makes everyday life easier for our families (e.g. absences, illness, vacation absences, etc. can be entered directly in the app), simplifies communication for educators and families (both direct communication to our teachers and communication between parents takes place directly via the app) and also plays a key role as an information tool, like a kind of internal social media (here we share projects, pictures, videos or even information and excursions).
