We are a bilingual private school (German and English) located in the heart of Zurich and Uster, offering kindergarten, primary school, secondary school & IB-Diploma. As a day school, our family-friendly structure provides full-day care Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (with Friday available as an option), flexible start and end times, and even the option to take vacation weeks at your convenience.
Our method is based on personalized and project-based learning with a focus on developing 12 core competencies.
We offer a modern, sustainable and child- and family-friendly alternative to the traditional school system, which not only imparts knowledge, but also promotes intrinsic motivation, strengthens innate curiosity and develops personality and character. Instead of just teaching, we promote learning.

Bilingual: German & English
At SOT, students are immersed in German and English every single day, through lessons, play, and conversation.
About half of our team is German-speaking and the other half is English-speaking, so the children learn both languages naturally and intuitively. They develop authentic language skills and a lasting, natural connection to both languages.
4-Day Week with Optional Friday
We offer full days from 8 am to 6 pm, with flexible start and end times. Healthy snacks & hot meals are provided. Kindergarten and Primary students enjoy a four-day week from Monday to Thursday, Fridays are optional. From Secondary onwards, the last day of the week is Entrepreneur Friday.
Mixed-Age & Project-Based Learning
In our mixed-age classrooms, children learn together across different age groups, supporting and inspiring each other. Lessons are project-based and interdisciplinary, helping students see connections across subjects and apply their knowledge to real-life topics in meaningful ways.
Flexible Vacations
It’s your choice! Our school is only closed for six weeks a year, three over summer and three over Christmas. Families can take up to six additional weeks of flexible vacation throughout the year, if they want to.

SOT follows the Swiss Lehrplan 21 and also includes a comprehensive English curriculum.

School of Tomorrow SOT) is a bilingual (German & English) private school in Zurich and Uster that offers kindergarten, primary school secondary school the IB Diploma Program. It stands out for its personalized, project-based learning, mixed-age classes, a 4-day school week with an optional Friday, and flexible care hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Instead of a standardized curriculum, each child develops their own curriculum—based on the Swiss Lehrplan 21, but going far beyond it.

SOT offers education from kindergarten starting at about age 4) through secondary school . The program includes kindergarten ages 4–6), primary school ages 6–12, grades 1–6), and secondary school the Sek B, Sek A, and IB-Matura tracks (starting at about age 12). Starting in the 2026–2027 school year, the program will be expanded to include secondary school .
The school is a candidate school for the IB Diploma Program (IBDP). kindergarten primary school offered at the Zurich and Uster campuses, while the secondary school Sek B, Sek A, and IB Matura) is located exclusively at the Zurich campus.

SOT operates three campuses: Schloss Sihlberg Zurich Enge (kindergarten elementary), Augustinerhof in downtown Zurich (secondary IB-Matura), and Gerichtsplatz Uster (kindergarten elementary). All campuses can be reached at +41 44 215 50 00.

Kindergarten and primary school students attend school Monday through Thursday; Friday is optional (Friday Club). Starting in secondary school, Friday is a designated project day ("Entrepreneurial Friday"). The school offers full-day care from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., including hot meals and healthy snacks, at no additional cost.

SOT closes for only six weeks a year: three weeks for summer break and three weeks for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. In addition, families can flexibly and individually take up to six additional weeks of vacation throughout the year. By comparison, public schools close for 13–14 weeks, and international schools for as many as 18 weeks a year.

SOT employs a flexible, student-centered approach to learning, mixed-age classes, project-based learning, and daily bilingual instruction (German and English). At the same time, SOT follows Lehrplan 21 and prepares children for a seamless transition to public schools or international educational pathways.

Yes. School of Tomorrow is fully recognized as a private school by the Canton of Zurich and follows the Lehrplan 21. This means that students can transfer to public schools, cantonal gymnasiums, or international schools at any time. SOT is a candidate school for the IB Diploma Program (IBDP) and plans to offer the program starting in 2028.

Tuition is an all-inclusive fee that covers flexible, student-centered instruction, supervision from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Mon–Thu), learning materials, project work, field trips, and family events (SOT Nights). For kindergarten and primary school, hot meals and healthy snacks are also included. The Friday Club (optional after-school care) can be added flexibly on a per-trimester basis.
Starting in secondary school, Fridays are designated as project days until 1:00 p.m. Students receive a daily meal allowance for lunch at the nearby cafeteria.
School trips are an integral part of our educational program and provide important learning and community-building experiences throughout the school year. The cost of such a trip is billed separately from tuition.

The first step is to contact the Admissions Team by email (admissions@schooloftomorrow.ch) or by filling out the online application form. A private campus tour can be booked at any time. Enrollment is possible year-round—tuition is calculated on a pro-rata basis. Open houses are an important part of our admissions process. They give the child, the family, and us the opportunity to see together whether SOT is the right choice and thus make the best possible decision for the child.

SOT was founded by Diego De Nicola with the goal of innovating education: “Children shouldn’t just memorize what once was or understand what is now… they should create what is yet to come.” Its mission is to foster intrinsic motivation, develop personal strengths, and create personalized learning paths that foster local and global connections. Its core values are: Personalized, Innovative, and Empowering.
The educational concept is based on the research of Joseph Renzulli and Sally Reis, as well as on other established educational approaches such as constructivist learning theory, project- and inquiry-based learning, and the mastery learning approach. It focuses on the targeted development of individual strengths, active and inquiry-based learning, and the cultivation of personal responsibility in the learning process.
