From first steps to the first day of school: A new partnership with Kita Allegra
With young children, everything happens quickly. Barely have they settled into their daycare routine, made new friends, and discovered their daily rhythms when families are already thinking about the next big step: starting kindergarten and school.
These transitions can be exciting, but they also bring uncertainty. New spaces, new expectations, new relationships, and a completely different daily routine can be a lot for a young child to handle all at once, especially when everything changes from one day to the next.
That is exactly why we have established a close partnership with the Kita Allegra, so that this next step feels natural, familiar, and well-supported.
Introducing the Kita Allegra
The Kita Allegra offers bilingual early childhood education at its locations in Zurich, Pfäffikon, and Erlenbach.
The open learning spaces are based on the Reggio Emilia approach and were developed in collaboration with the renowned architectural firm Baukind Berlin. They create an inspiring environment that fosters independent learning, creative discovery, and social interaction.

A varied and ever-changing weekly program featuring a range of creative workshops, physical activity sessions, and regular activities with artists and subject-matter-experts complements the daily educational routine. Weekly forest days and nature experiences provide the children with additional opportunities for exploration and encourage physical activity, environmental awareness, and a connection to nature.
In addition, families benefit from a modern, family-centered care approach: A flexible booking system allows for a high degree of flexibility in daily life, while parent-child events and expert presentations create additional opportunities for interaction and exchange. UMAN®Web also provides a scientifically grounded tool for observing and supporting children’s development, which aids in developmental discussions. A dedicated app gives families transparent insights into daily life at the daycare center as well as simple and direct communication with the care team.
A shared vision for children
Both institutions share a deep conviction that every child grows up in their own way and at their own pace. Children learn best when they feel safe, curious, and valued as individuals. When their strengths are recognized early on, they develop the self-confidence and motivation that propel them forward, and foster a lifelong love of learning and intrinsic motivation.
A smooth transition for families
Together, we want children to experience education not as a series of separate stages, but as a continuous journey where they feel understood, encouraged and supported at every step of their growth.
Through this partnership, children at the Kita Allegra have the opportunity to get to know the school environment even before this new chapter begins. Joint activities, visits, and meaningful interactions with older children help them gradually understand school routines, learning spaces, and the rhythm of the school day.
This creates something truly valuable: trust, even before the first day of school has even begun.
Families benefit from this as well. Two educational teams sharing common values can work closely together to support each child’s development and provide parents with a reliable partner during the transition from early childhood to school, offering clarity, continuity, and trust.
The partnership also opens the door to collaborative projects in the areas of sustainability, creativity, and community and gives children the opportunity to learn across age groups and in various settings.
At its core, this collaboration is based on a simple idea: when transitions are carefully planned and relationships are strong, children can look forward to the future with joy.
