Our 2025–2026 school year in review
As another school year draws to a close, we find ourselves doing exactly what we encourage our students to do every day: pause, reflect, celebrate progress, and look ahead with curiosity and an open mind.
Looking back, this has undoubtedly been one of the most transformative years in the history of School of Tomorrow.
We grew from one campus to three, launched our Secondary School, welcomed many new students, families and colleagues, and continued refining the way we learn and teach. Along the way, our students grew academically and personally, while we grew together as educators, as a team and as a community.
There were incredible moments, as well as plenty of challenging ones. We learned a great deal, embraced countless new experiences, celebrated milestones we had planned for, navigated surprises we never expected, and found joy in the everyday moments that quietly reminded us why we do what we do. In many ways, that's exactly what learning and life are about.
None of this would have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our team, or without the trust and support of our families. Building something new, challenging the status quo, and reimagining education takes courage, commitment, and a community that believes in the journey. To everyone who supports our mission to reinvent education, thank you.
As we say goodbye to one school year, another is already taking shape. We look forward to everything the next chapter will bring.

Our year in review
Campus Uster: A brand-new beginning – new city, new campus
What began as an empty, brand-new building gradually became a school full of life. New routines became traditions, unfamiliar places became favorites, and new families and colleagues became a close-knit community.
Today, our Uster campus is filled with children's artwork, creative projects, laughter, and the rhythm of everyday school life. Along the way, we created wonderful memories together, from running our own stand at the Uster Wochenmarkt and visiting strawberry fields and a pumpkin farm to making homemade jam and exploring a chocolate factory.
It has been wonderful to watch Campus Uster become the vibrant community it is today.
Campus Augustinerhof: A new chapter — our Secondary School
This year marked the reopening of our original campus in the heart of Zurich, with an exciting new addition: our Secondary Program.
Building a school from scratch means living the very mindset we teach — embracing uncertainty, adapting constantly, and creating something real. One year on, we couldn't be prouder of what has grown here. Our first priority was never just academic delivery; it was making sure every student genuinely wanted to walk through the door each morning. From that foundation of trust and belonging, everything else followed: teachers who know every student deeply, learning personalised to each student's level and pace, and honest conversations that turn "I have to" into "I want to."
Our students rose to it. They pitched and built their own projects on Entrepreneur Fridays, took the stage, competed at the World Robot Olympiad, explored Zurich as their classroom, and learned to think critically, solve real problems, and take ownership of their learning — all while working toward Sek A standards in two languages.
To our dedicated team, enthusiastic students, and supportive families: you didn't just join a school this year. You helped build one. We can't wait to see where the journey takes our very first Secondary cohort next.
Campus Schloss Sihlberg: Turning a magical castle into a magical campus
Our magical castle has transformed in its own unique way over the past year.
The historic walls are now decorated, perhaps a little unconventionally, with children's paintings, colorful projects, and reminders of learning happening every single day. Outside, new play spaces, a football field, and countless adventures have filled the grounds with life.
As it turns out, it would be difficult to imagine a better place for learning. Every child seems to find their own favorite corner, while inspiration waits around every hallway and behind every castle door.
We're looking forward to another year of filling this special place with even more stories, discoveries, and memories.
Learning beyond four walls
This year, learning took place everywhere: in the woods, at camp, on field trips during Enrichment Weeks, on school outings, through theater performances, in science experiments, in workshops, and on playgrounds.
Some of our greatest lessons happened when students stepped outside the classroom and experienced learning for themselves.
Chocolate project
What started with chocolate tasting became an entire business.
Our Chocolate Enterprise Project challenged students to think like entrepreneurs. They explored where chocolate comes from, investigated ethical sourcing and sustainability, experimented with recipes, designed their own brands, created packaging, calculated production costs, developed marketing campaigns, and pitched their ideas.
Along the way, they applied mathematics, science, literacy, art, technology, and business skills, not as separate subjects, but as tools to solve authentic, real-world problems. This is learning with purpose.
Growing like butterflies
One of our favorite moments this year was watching our youngest learners care for caterpillars as they transformed into butterflies.
When the butterflies were finally released, they reminded us why education is important. Every child deserves a place where they feel safe enough to ask questions, make mistakes, build self-confidence, and eventually spread their own wings.
Watching that transformation, in butterflies and in children, is one of the greatest privileges of being educators.
Sport & community events
This school year, we tried something new. Instead of simply inviting people to visit our school, we stepped outside our campuses and joined a variety of events across Zurich and Uster. We organized art craft and sport activities for children (and adults!) and engaged with many families, fellow teachers and neighbouring exhibitors in meaningful conversations. We truly had a great time and grew closer as a team.

Designing Schools Around Learners
In November, we welcomed two very special guests: Dr Joseph Renzulli and Dr Sally Reis, pioneers of the Schoolwide Enrichment Model (SEM) and internationally recognized leaders in gifted education.
Through teacher workshops and an inspiring public presentation, they shared the evolution of their life's work and demonstrated how the Schoolwide Enrichment Model can help every learner discover, develop, and apply their strengths.
Their visit left us with fresh ideas, renewed inspiration, and an even stronger belief that education should be designed around the unique potential of every child.
In the media
This year, discussions about our educational approach also took place outside our classrooms. From interviews with SRF about our four-day school week and its impact on students and families to articles in the Tages-Anzeiger, ZO-Medien, and other publications—it was wonderful to see how innovative education is becoming part of a broader public discussion.
We hope these conversations continue to inspire new ways of thinking about what education can be.

More than just academic success
We take pride in academic achievements. But we take even greater pride when we see children believe in themselves, encourage one another, show resilience, take risks, discover new passions, and demonstrate kindness, curiosity, and self-confidence.
And often, it’s the simplest moments that show this most clearly: swimming together on a warm afternoon, baking something from scratch, creating art, celebrating birthdays, laughing together over lunch, or getting lost in a good book. It’s these ordinary moments that make a school feel like home and shape the future.
