Designing School Around Learners: Individual Talent, Individualized Education
Experience an evening with Dr. Joseph Renzulli and Dr. Sally Reis, pioneering creators of the Schoolwide Enrichment Model (SEM) and global leaders in gifted education. They will trace the evolution of their life’s work, showing how a strengths-first, enrichment-driven approach can individualize education, elevate engagement, and unlock each learner’s potential.
Join us on Friday, November 14, at Schloss Sihlberg, Sihlberg 10, 8002 Zurich, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., for this special event hosted by School of Tomorrow.
At School of Tomorrow, we have been implementing a project-based SEM approach for the past year and a half, guided in-house by SEM expert Nicole Waicunas, whose 15+ years of collaboration with Dr. Renzulli and Dr. Reis spans research, teacher training, and student development. Our focus: translating SEM into day-to-day practice so students move from interests to meaningful, self-directed work.
Reflecting Switzerland’s commitment to enrichment and talent development, SOT translates the SEM philosophy into an inspiring, project-based model for our learners.
We will also explore how SEM supports families, helping parents nurture their child’s interests, strengths, and intrinsic motivation at home, while showing how enrichment, paired with targeted support, promotes talent development in every child and helps every learner turn interests into meaningful, self-directed work. Topics include designing interest-driven projects for diverse learner profiles, coordinating school–home collaboration, and making progress visible through student-led conferences and exhibitions of work.
Join us for a research-grounded and inspiring presentation and discussion on transforming learning through enrichment—an event not to be missed.
